2010 silverado gear swap results

This may be a dumb question (and I hate to hi-jack), but my truck only has 7500 miles and I am thinking of 4:10's (or :11's). What are the possible negative repercussions I could run into on the warranty?

That's not a dumb question at all. Officially GM can only void your warranty on parts damaged that they prove have been directly damaged by your modification. Google the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Auto companies can only take away coverage on stuff that they can prove you broke. You can fight them on that too. Obviously if you swap gears then the differential won't likely be covered, but for anything else they would have to prove that your mod caused the failure.

I agree should not effect he warranty ........other than the parts you change ......"if" you have dealer do it with GM gears I really cant see an issue
I put aftermarket YUKON 4.11's in my 2010 with 8500 miles ...but dlr reflashed the ecm for the speedo .........no issue on a warranty issue a month later

Also did the dealership charge you for the reflash, and how do you bring it up in conversation? It just seems to me you want to shield as much about your intentions with your vehicle as possible...

So you are saying the flash was free? What about the price to have the gears done? Anybody's input would be awesome. I have the green light GO, just have to have a ballpark estimate of the cost involved (drafting a full powerpoint for the wife. j/k but close enough).

My flash was part of my standards I set for my purchase at the dealer. I wanted it leveled, tinted, edlined, tires installed and speedo fixed. They didn't even question me on the speedo flash. I'm not sure how much that would actually cost. Hopefully one of the others will chime in here.

Oh ok. I would just go get a dyno tune if I thought the warranty would still cover engine/transmission afterwards. But sadly a tune deals with both of those systems. The sole reason I would like a dealership to do everything. Thanks for your reply.
