Default 2008 5.3 rclb engine swap ?

I have a 2008 regular cab long bed z71 with a 5.3 that i would like to swap a 6.0 into and a 4l70e i've found a take out from a vmax with tranny. is this pretty streight forward swap of does it being 4x4 change alot of things driveabity and reliablity are very important.what are the problems i'll encounter? it doesn't have to be a vmax to make me happy if any other 6.0 will fit i'm kind open to listen to suggestions

imho I would just swap in a 4L80e and never look back.

gen 4 6.0-6.2-7.0 will fit. pretty straight forward swap as long as you have basic mechanic skills. the thing with a 6.0-6.2-7.0 you will need a long block AND intake. you can swap all your stuff over from your 5.3 but I recommend to upgrade to a 42lb injector if you plan to cam it.

It will bolt in, rework crossmember and possibly shorten driveshaft. As for transfercase worst case it would need an adapter change.

a 60/65/70e wont last once you start making more than stock hp. some can make it last but the cost to rebuild one is way more than a stock 4L80e swap

weve seen these young guys break 4l60e with stock 4.8,several on here can kill them.We have seen guys with shift kitted 4l60e with 400-500 hp run hard and not break. My 06 vortec max with a maggy 4l70e took a **** load of W.O.T runs, maybe 20 per tank of fuel,

It depends if you drive it hard or if you plan to thrash it you might want the bigger heavier trans.

So opinions vary

Ive seen a few people break them with 4.3s.

Build it once and never look back.

So yep opinions vary.
