the dod valley cover have oil ports to feed the Dod lifters

i think if u going to change the valley cover then u will shut down the oil ports which feed the dod lifters with oil then its better to change them to normal lifters to avoid any failures , also my opinion is change them now so in future u will not look again if u want to change cam or other things

You'd rather sell the motor than change some simple lifters? Seriously? You're doing a complete OBS swap... but can't change lifters? Jesus.

i would recommend changing the lifters 2 . . . those DOD, are bound 2 fail sooner or later.. It could take ur cam+ engine if they decide 2 fail.. Mine failed @ 20,XXX but than again i was running a cam.. either or it better 2 change them now, than later on, because you still need 2 pull the heads , if you decide 2 change them in the future..

a huge question no one mentioned in any cam threads....so the LS2/LS7 valley covers have a PCV fitting on the rear of the cover....where do i plug that into? do i have to buy an oil pressure sensor like the old motors bc all the valley covers ive seen doesnt have the sensor made into it like the one on my DOD valley cover

i can change them but im lazy and have enough junk at work or at home to deal with.
i have the heads pulled and being milled .003 to make them true. i have my lifters and everything needed for the swap. well now Jon and I had a discussion about my knock sensors and valley cover. well now im getting a LS2 valley cover oh joy! the GEN IV engines have knock sensors on the outside, so save the hassel an get the pig tails to send to Jon at Nelsons Performance so he can run the knock sensors to the factory location.
i have a secert that i just picked up :devil
ill make sure to post up some pics of the goodies when the motor start going back together. yall go check out my LSx swap in the project section lemme know whatcha think.
