Default 2007 suburban dod/oil pressure light issue

So, my ex wife has an 07 suburban at about 95,000 or so she had a collapsed lifter, no shock there, the dealer that did the repairs said the dod manifold was cracked so they replaced it at the same time. Well to shorten this novel to a story, after she hit about 120,000 or so i ended up replacing the valve lifter oil manifold filter screen he oil oressure sending unit and her dipstick tube, due to the fact she was randomly getting low oil pressure light, well now its fairly constant, but the pressure checks good well within specs. I am thinking the valve lifter manifokd has cracked again and is leaking internally....i plan to delete the DOD as soon as one of us has the money, and will probably just because i dont want to have to go back into her truck again will delete vvt at same time. I dont need any performance out of this, what cam can i put in that is close to a stock cam maybe slight improvement over stock..... For CHEAP!!! Dont even want to have to change the idle speed and all of that crap, i know its gonna need a tune, etc etc, but i wanna put as little money into this as possible

VVT cams wear a groove into the 2nd cam bearing from the front....too much oil seeps by and drops pressure. Happened on my last truck, low oil pressure light would come on after getting the oil hot while towing. My bandaid was thicker oil. That's really your only option unless you want to replace the cam bearings.

07 Should not have VVT. I believe that was a 2010+ add on.

I think you can put in a regular 5.3 non DoD cam and be fine, but something I'd look into.

The Generation IV Vortec 5300 engines are truck engines that share all the improvements and refinements found in other Generation IV engines. At present, four versions of the 5300 are in production: two iron block versions (LY5 and LMG) and two aluminum block versions (LH6 and LC9). All versions feature the Active Fuel Management system, and starting with MY 2010, variable valve timing (engine RPO codes stayed the same).

Wouldnt that drop oil pressure at the plug by the filter though??? Hers is normal there hot or cold but she will lose it at the opsu hole on the manifold

Not saying you are wrong but everything I have researched and found says that the 5.3 never had VVT until 2010 MY.

The GMC sierra denali was technically the first GM full size truck with the VVT in the 6.2 motor.
