Supreme did mine. Your truck will run on the 5.3 tune, and the trans should shift to get to the dealer. Tell them you want to talk to the most experienced tech there. Tell them you need them to flash the reflash ecm and tcm with the denali OS so the truck knows it has a 6spd. You can always get with geoff @ eps to do everything needed to trick the system basically.

My driveshaft is a custom 2 peice.

Is it same length as stock or shorter? I think the 6l80e is longer so i'll need to shorten mine correct?

the issue is, to tune/program the tcm (it is in the trans) it will have to be in person. that's why the dealer is the best route an you know you cant screw it up. the ecm can only be altered by the dealer with the truck there as they plug in, and basically load the denali program into the ecm and tcm

Geoff @ EPS can do it but its best to deal with the ecm and tcm at one time.

Cool Link to list of gm truck wiring harnesses

Found this while searching .. I have found their website helpful in finding part numbers etc for both my vehs the few times i needed to look anyway... Whilesearching for partnumbers for different wire harnesses for myswap( even tho Niff had already gotten one on his part no. list ) i ran across a pretty extensive list of wire harnesses for gm trucks... The thing i was noticing is that it lists flex fuel engines along with non flex fuel for the same harnesses .. It doesnt actually say non-flex fuel it just says like 5.3J w/cylinder deactivaction LY5 in parenthesis .. Just found it odd they all have same harness ... But also i noticed there is more than one part number for the same application .. I figured i would put the link here and administrators can copy it elsewhere if anyone wants to ... Since this thread is still growing in the Views numbers i figure it will bean an easy find even if left here ... Maybe Niff can add the link at the beginning of thread for those needing a certain harness you know? Im always trying to contribute back with all the help i get when i have questions and believe me i ask a lot of questions lol ... Just wait til i start installing the 6L80E Niff gunna block my number from texting lol
Thanks guys.

Its NalleyGMC.com if youwant to just got there site and starta parts search on your own. I dont know if anyone had found this previously or not I just found it again and found it very helpful.

Oh and if you dont like their prices go to GMPartsdirect for cheaper prices!!

I cant find a definite answer anywhere so m going to ask here... Does any one know Will my flexplate in my 5.3 w/4l60e work with the 6l80e?

And since i have 154,000 miles on it should i replace it just because of the milage?

i would guess the flexplate would swap over, but im not for certain. yet the LS1 stlye flexplate (sfi rated) on circle d's website is suppose to fit the 4.8/5.3/6.0 (if backed by a 65e)
