I was under the impression that the Z71 was a suspension package that could be had in both 2wd and 4wd platforms but my buddy insists that the Z71 only comes in 4wd. Which one of us is right? This is for the 99-current Silverado.

I could have swore I read on here about a 2wd z71. Might not have been for all 99+ trucks, maybe 03+, or just 07+, but I remember reading it somewhere on here.

Made a quick search, didn't feel like looking through all of them, but a few post came up about 2wd z71 including this one. Looks like it may just be for the 07+ nnbs trucks, but there are 2wd z71s

 

and I know the NBS tahoes can come in 2wd and 4wd z71 packages

 

Z71 used to be a suspension package on 4WD's, but every since the NNBS trucks came on line the package became available on 2WD & 4WD's.

 

i've seen a 2wd Z71 NBS. i think it was an 06 model.

 

There is a Z85 suspension package for 2wd NBS. I have seen them, but I am unsure what years the package was available for.

 

the first 2wd Z71 were on the colarados and the the tahoes, but as far as the silverados and sierras i think only the nnbs had the 2wd Z71s
