Some of the posts in here bring to mind the word "Hipocrit". It was just a little tire spinning at maybe 10-20mph. If he deserves jail and an impounded truck for that then 99% of us on this site need the same, me included. Ive street raced at over 120 mph through towns and on the highway. Some of the videos posted here are enough to convict and send the ones racing on them to jail. But they get praise, and this guy gets hammered.
I can only speek for me, but i think the only reason the cop should have done what he did is if it was in traffic, and there were pedestrians present. Otherwise, he was a power hungry D!CK.
Now im just curious to see how many of the negitive posts are defended, and how many think about it and recognize.

To break the law willingly and then to complain about the repurcussions of it and an officer doing his job is just silly.
Yes, they have a certain amount of discretion but who is to say this officer didnt just clean up some teenagers spilled brains the day before? It may have only been one instance for this guy whipping the donut, but could have been the sixth, seventh or more for that officer during the course of his 40 hour work week. That is what it sounds like to me. Usually an officer will not want to spend time on something like this, show the offender photos, try to educate them, etc. unless they have a valid reason (see scraping up spilled brains comment above)
BTW - where is there farmland in the Bay Area? I am a Bay Area native and the ONLY "farm land" I have seen is out in Oakdale / Antioch / Brentwood area (unless the classification of the Bay Area has been extended outside of its actual rhelm once again). And consider they have had numerous wrecks due to reckless driving and several deaths out that way and have street racing problems almost every weekend.

I worked with Jax Sheriffs Office over a year, and volentier fire/EMS for 3 years. I've seen both sides, and the what-ifs first hand. I know the law is the law, but most law is vauge leaving room for interpritation. Did you know that in South Carolina its legal to beat your wife on sundays if you do it on the court house steps? See what i mean, thats a real law from way back, but still a law.
If you do a burn out in a parking lot its still reckless driving and against the law. If you are sleeping in your car in a club parking lot because you dont want to drive drunk, and you are just in possetion of the keys, thats a DUI. When they tought us traffic laws, one of the biggest things they stressed was "use your judgement".
Would you give a guy sleeping off his drunkeness in his car, in a parking lot a DUI because its the law? IMO he did the right thing by not driving. If he would have stumbled off and tried to get home he could have stumbled in front of a car, or a cop could arrest him for being drunk in public.
Its all about common sence, and if that persons actions were puting anyone in real danger.

You make good points, for sure, but as you stated there is wiggle room. The officer involved chose not to use it, thats his call. It should not be expected. It will vary depending on the officer, what that officer has seen, his experiences as well as mood that day and perhaps an enforced zero tolerance department policy.
If you break the law, what one should have a comprehension of is the MAX penalty. Not the "Well, I could get off or just get a ticket", because the officer may very well choose to go with the harshest penalty available.
Another point - Had the officer warned him and let him go, and the youngster went a few miles away and did it again in a more populated area, then killed someone, what then? How many minutes would pass before the city caught a lawsuit and that officer was reprimanded?
The only time one should feel they have power over the law is if they have diplomatic immunity. So, if your not a Russian Ambassador to the US staying at the embassy - follow the rules, or accept the consequences, whatever they may be.
Freedom without discipline is chaos.

You are right JSmith
The only performance I saw in this thread was reading the guys signature to make sure it was a decent burnout at least. That cam probably made it sound nice.
Relocate post.
