I don't know how many have had this problem. But here goes... (kinda long)

First: My headlight switch has not been illuminated since the day I bought it. So I took out the switch this past Friday and to my surprise there is a removable bulb in the back. O.K. no biggy. Call the dealer. You have to buy the entire switch to get the bulb. WHAT!!!! So I go to Radio Shack and buy a 12v. bulb and put it in. Works just fine.

Second: My climate control panel had a couple of bulbs burnt out in it also. So I take that out and apart only to find out that the bulbs are soldered into the mother board. So again I go and find some similar 12v. bulbs at Radio Shack and solder in the new ones. First time plugging it in POP. So I call the dealer, the entire thing is 160.00 or so.

I can't believe that!

Does anyone have any part numbers and location to get replacement bulbs that I can solder into the mother board on that panel? (oh yah they are the little bulbs for the buttons) Or does anyone have a spare climate control box for sale? Oh and I also popped one of the ambe LED's for the buttons and can't seem to get the replacement to work at all.

So much for getting my little annoying probs fixed this weekend. The only good thing is I got my windshield washer fixed.

Thanks, thought you guys would like to know.

Ever hear the story about the light bulb rebuild? Guy has a bad glove box light bulb finds out that the socket is rusted. Then finds that the inside of the fire was has some rust on it too when changing out the socket, so he pull the dash out to take care of the rust. And fins out that the wiring is a fire hazard… Anyway the guy ended up doing a frame off restoration because of a light bulb

Macadayear had changed out several of the lights in his interior with LED’s you may want to PM him.

the LED's were probly right, you just need to put a resistor on them since they will not be the correct voltage. Try to find some wire diagram for that thing your trying to replaced. I know when I replaced some lights for my wifes car, her stereo had led's that were soldiered onto the board.

Wow, you have some luck. I have never had a bulb burn out in any of the full size trucks I've owned.

Pull the board and take it to a PC repair shop. They may have stuff like that lying around.
