I drive my truck too and from work everyday, but when I get there, I drive a Port of Houston maintenance truck..
exact same year model as my truck but a fleet side, it even has the same 4.8L
thats when I remember how slow mine used to be..
the shop truck couldnt even get out of it's own way if it wanted too.

we've got a 1993 ford f-350 dually gas truck with the built in toolbox/bed. talk about a slow mothertrucker. it misfires so bad and it pulls hardcore to the right. I think our forklift is a little faster off the line

when you stomp on the gas, you can here a lot of popping comeing from the the Engine, you can even feel it in the truck when it does it...
I keep waiting for a rod to go flying thru the hood one of these days...
I have told the Mechanics about it, but I know more about these trucks, than they do,
It exspecially makes'em mad when I pull the truck in, and tell them exactly whats wrong with it, and what they need to do to fix it...
at first they would laugh at me and walk off...
(untill they started realizing I was right)
now they get pissed, and tell me to take it up with there supervisor.
Oh well......

my wife has an 01 tahoe. soemtimes it feels a lil quicker off the line than my truck. but i guess its because of my wheels. we race all the time though. once i get the 20s rolling im a lil faster.

After driving my '83, my new Vortec MAX feels like a Vette. LOL.

I've actually been behind the wheel of a Vette.
If my truck ever had that kind of power.....
