I wouldn't mind having that aluminum 5.3. WTF is up with the 3.23 gears being standard? I can't imagine having anything but my 3.73's stock. Also, I think that 145 amp alternator being standard is definetely needed. Thanks for the info.

I agree 3.23 wouldn't be much fun.

no changes to the GMC HD's just the chevy. The gear change is a CAFE move the optional gears are still there.

That's what I was thinking. More power would be not that bad with short tires and taller gearing. There's not a TON of people that toss on larger wheels and tires...so if you do, be ready to spend for gear swaps if you buy a truck off the lot or order them the way you want.

HO alt to go w/ all the new electronics.

WTF about the rear drums???

I'm kinda paranoid about those. I wonder if I should order my 2500HD GMC or wait as I really would like a sunroof in it! I could force myself to wait a few months to order one with that. But I sure as hell don't want some damned rear drums...worse case I could just get an 11.5" rear disc axle from a bone yard but I'd rather not spend $$$ to do that.

When is late '04 typically in automotive sales terms? End of summer?
