Thats just as TERRIBLE as having a Damn 2 wheel Colorodo Z-71 or worse the Damn Tracker Z-71. They are really ruining it for the guys who have an Honest Z-71. A z-71 should be 4x4 ONLY!!! I forgot about all the idiots that puta Z-71 sticker on about anything and think their cool. I saw a sticker on an OBS s-10 the other day

Some people dont need a 4wd. Some just want the looks. Hell half the lifted trucks in this country dont see an ounce of dirt or snow. Toyota has been seeling pre-runners for years, Whats wrong with GM making money at it too? I never heard any bitching about the 2wd Z71 Tahoes in 2005.

Oh yeah, I took my VortecMax emblems and 4x4 stickers off and added a Z71 emblem from a Tahoe to my tailgate. So I guess that makes me an idiot. And I guess everyone who puts SS emblems on a non SS truck are idiots too. Does it really matter to you that much? And a honest Z71???? WTF??? It is a couple skid plates and shocks that suck. I like the emblems better than the 4x4 stickers. If you dont approve.. oh well.

Judging from the infomercial looks like the 4x4 doesn't have very much ground clearance anyway! It might as well be a 2x4. And you can now get a Z71 in the HD's!

WOW, I guess i pissed in you wheaties. The Meaning i was trying to get of my post was I had to work hard and save to get my First Z-71 , i could of bought a 2 wheel drive and put a sticker on it, but i didnt. A Z-71 Started out as a 4X4 and when you bought one it was something to be proud of, they always had nicer options also. Now GM is just abusing this to sell vehicles. You cant honestly tell what a vehicle is these days the way they share options. We have idiots around here that have 1980's S-10 with Z-71 stickers and even late 70's full size with em too I guess i should put one on my 3/4 ton too, oops, they never offered a 3/4 Z-71. Do what you want, but re read the post before thinking i called you an idiot.

Thers nothing wrong with a lifted 2 wheel drive. They look great. But they shouldnt have 4x4 or Z-71 on them if its NOT four wheel drive. GM could make something like Z-22 or something. Then you know what is what .

i totally agree wit you here, i was ALWAYS under teh impression that Z71 is a 4wd package, they list all these other things that come wit a Z71 but it was always just assumed that there 4wd. im not knocking lifted 2wds at all, i considered lifting mine and am still kickin around the idea when i get rid of my blue silvy. i just dont like the idea of them actually MAKING one like that. to the guys wit ss badges on a non ss, thats fine its your truck, do wat you want, that doesnt bother me ni the slightest bit, but i think wat tim z was trying to say is they shouldnt be like that from the factory

I agree. I can deal with individuals placing different badges on their trucks that really do not belong there, but when the manufacturer places emblems on a truck that doesn't make sence, it's just not right.
Then again, the Z-71 package is just an "offroad" package only. It really doesn't apply to the actual driveline components.
None the less, the Z-71 sticker has been used for the 4-wheel drive vehicles for a long time, they should have just kept those stickers on the 4-wheel drive vehicles only. IMO
