Default Why to a truck??

I'm sure every one had this comment said to them several times..

''why do you do all this stuff to a truck? why not do it to a camaro or mustang?''

just wondering what everyones comments back were..

i always say ''why not have a truck that can walk away from mustangs and camaros and beet an old guys c5 corvette? i can haul my race car to the track, i can do my girlfriend in the back seat..and it runs in the 12's''

Cause since I was a kid I liked to do things I shouldnt. I enjoy dragging mustangs (a little heave for most Fbodys around here) and its nice to have something that I can still haul my 4 wheeler around in, pull the boat, and still walk away from almost anything at a red light.

Oh yea and real men drive trucks

I did it due to needing something to work on.. I dont have either one of my motorcycles with me and have a need to turn wrenches on a regular basis... I had no idea thta it would turn into all this!!! but, I do like being able to pull up to a light nd nobody expect that its the "big dumb truck" thats going to walk their asses....

The reason I like to modify trucks is that they are easier to street race with. It's much easier to get someone to race your truck than a Camaro or Corvette.

Also, its way easier to work on a truck than an Fbody. Have yall seen how much room we have as opposed to them. I would slit my wrists before a cam install on an Fbody.

insurance, you can still use it as a truck, can drive it all year round, and if you get into an accident you wont be SOL

I just tell them there isn't anything like a 6000lbs truck beating a Mustang, camaro or vette
