If you want to tow ther is nothing like the Powerdyne. The Radix just doesnt make any boost down low. You have to wait forever for the spool.

One of my customers has a Radix on a 2500HD and regularly pulls with it. The only downside is fuel milage. The Radix comes into boost so quick that you end up in power enrichment alot and there goes the fuel milage. I can't think of any other issue's though.

Same mods as everyone else around here, Radix, GT2-3, smaller pulley, custom tune. I'm putting down a bit more now, but when it was dyno'd I was running out of fuel pump and put another one in right after.

Yeah I tow this 9000 lb beast up hills, and long ones too, at 100 km/h or better. I had to upgrade rad core thickness, and am thinking of larger heat exhchanger for intercooler. So far no more issues. I was very specific when I bought it and they set it up for towing purposes. It is only like 1 PSI less (still hit 6.5PSI), and still ripps when empty. Yeah fuel milage is an issue when towing, but I am hoping 2 bar MAP will help a little with that. I forsee no big trouble with yours, maybe tranny but have no experiance with that.

The same goes for any other supercharger kit or turbo kit. You need the fuel there to make the power needed when towing. Turbos hit boost and the PE just as easy too when towing. Show me a FI that dosent hit PE and make power when towing or racing. PE is exactly what it is power enrichment no way around it. Just the nature of the beast.

I'm certainly not saying that it's the Radix's fault about the fuel milage. They happen to make boost a bit quicker than some others so there is some difference there, but it's minimal. Whether you go into power enrichment at 42% or 47% doesn't matter much. It's simply a boosted issue. For guys that do alot of towing I usually recomend that they just build a 408 for about the same amount of money. I don't want to go into that here because that's off topic. I will say that anyone that I know that has done towing with a Radix is more than happy with it's power output as any would having boost when towing. The only downfall I've really ran into is fuel milage. A 2 bar tune makes that issue alot less noticable though and if you do much towing you're either going to want to do a 2 bar tune or keep the boost level to 6psi or below.

Just my opinion...

I guess a turbo would be even worse towing. With a load on the engine it would stay pretty high in the boost. My Blazer usualy ran 1-2psi at 70, but throw 1K behind it and it would run a constant 4-6psi at 70.

Did you run into any overheating or high EGT numbers from that?
