Default Why 4.2L?

Anyone know why GM put a 4.2 v6 in the 05 trailblazer instead of 4.3? whats so different?
Saved money or something?

Just seems weird to me.

Ahh. I couldn't get up on the trailer when I was helping so I didn't realize it was inline. but still don't see why they did that.
They had the I5 and then the 4.3 V6. Why change?

guess they see something in the inline motors, they do make good turbo motors like the 4.3L. and sound good imo like skyline supras etc..

You mean the trailblazer? They never had the 4.3.

I didn't mean the trailblazer specifically but GM having the 4.3 sorry.

I do remember there being a Turbo I5 Trailblazer a few years back that put down 400hp or ftlbs or both.
That would be sweet.

Probably something to do with stricter emission standards for SUV's or some other bs.
BTW, the inline 6 came out first in the '02 TB, the I-5 & I-4 came later in the '04+ Colorados. Not sure why the 4.3 is still offered in the 1500's, since the 4.8 is just as good or better on gas. Maybe cheaper insurance rates for fleets or something???
