Default Whos running a ratchet shifter

Any actual advantages to running a ratchet shifter over letting the computer do the work? Anyone running one with a console? Im thinking about getting a hurst or a b and m and running it in a console, just for something to screw around with on the streets. Give me some input

There is a VERY old thread about the debate of manual shifting vs PCM shifting. One thing I have learned scene then, is while manual shifting with a 4l80e, you are applying one more clutch. Which would make me believe it would be better not to do so. BUT I think it would me more beneficial to be able to throw the trans in neutral at the end of the run without worrying about hitting reverse.

haha, well mine slip in to neutral without hitting reverse just fine if your not pulling on the shifter??

however on cold 'untuned' cammed truck going from reverse to neutral can sometimes be fun
