I just made my second payment on mine and I have 9,000 miles on it now. I total about 50-60K a year, thats why I'm so interested in how long this thing could last. I am paying on it for 6 years, so in that time I could have as much as 360,000 miles on it before its paid off. I wonder what kind of trade in I'll get. LOL

I wonder if it has the old 6.5 turbo diesel in it. That is impressive though.

Those old TBI's run forever. Mine, which is now my bro's is almost turning over 200,000. All on the original engine, trans and rear.

210,000 miles original motor, uses a little oil after 2nd cam swap. Trans rebuilt twice, both times my fault. Started modding at 125,000...

thats pretty impressive. I'm sure you could probibly hit 250-275K, and that on a moded motor. I hope mine lasts 300K miles. If it doesnt you can find take out 5.3's with 20,000 miles on them all day for $600.

So I guess its still good if I can go 1 million miles on $1200 worth of replacement motors.

MY 5.3 has 205k on it and the only thing ive ever replaced on it were the brushes on the starter, thats it, besides the routine maintence stuff, now the tranny is another story, it lasted til about 160k then it was all downhill, from there ive replaced/rebuilt 5 times, matter of fact im installing my fifth tranny today. lol.. my pops had a 95 gmc with the old style 350 and had over 300k on it and never had any problems with it except for the heater core, and of coarse he replaced the tranny at about 200k so it don its job.

I did a little more digging and it is a 350 vortech. I know they can last, but I'm not sure if I believe a million miles with no rebuild. That just seems unreasonalbe from a gas engine period.

If he did 95% highway driving with no load its still 25,000 hours on that motor minimum.
