Default Who could build a truck with junk parts

i was out working on the truck abit and my mother came out and made the comment... "hell if you had a few more parts you could build another truck"..
thought about it for a moment.... looked over at my giant pile of parts and started laughing.... by the looks of it all i need is a frame and some body panels

Hell, that question's easy... GM! They did it for years, along with cars. Dodge learned from that, and they make 'em now instead.

Say what? What's illegal about building your own vehicle? There are proper ways of doing it and I just can't see it as illegal at all. I'm certain there are ways to get even junk vehicles legally tagged in most states. I've seen people build their own motorcycles for years and someone had to build their own car in the past. You've been had!

When you look back it is.... but when it happened i felt liek crap because i spent a good part of 2 years collecting parts to build a 91 c1500. and i did it for about 3-4k which is pretty cheap.... but at the age of 18 tahts alot of money. and i knew i couldnt register it, but i didnt think they would crush it..... they didnt even let me get anything out of it..... luckily the wrecking yard worker was cool enough. he let me get my stuff out real quick..... they took it from me and had it crushed less than 2 hours later..... bastards

Im sure if i had the time and money to fight it i couldve got it done... but it was literally like a couple hours and it was about 5 fees lower..... very compact!!!!

I'm guessing you got caught driving it? You should have just bought a wrecked one for the title. Man that's harsh...and I thought Ohio was tough about titles. If you rebuild a vehicle here you need proof of a vin and a recipt for every part replaced.

Yeah the worst part is the cop who did it lived 2 blocks from me and saw it get built from ther ground up.

if i bought one for the title i would have spent 5k plus for it.

Yeoch, things do tend to be a little cheaper out east (Ohio). I can't see them crushing it if you had recipts for all of the parts (but who saves recipits anyway...not me). That sux tho.
