Installed my cam this past weekend. I stuck a screwdriver through the inspection hole on the trans and through one of the holes in the flexplate

Use a strap wrench. That way you wont mess anything up. Thats how i did mine. Most impacts wont take that bolt out. I has to be a good one because i found out mine wasnt enough. The strap wrench is the ticket and the safest just have a strong second hand with to help.

The temp readout on my mirror hit 102 as I was coming across the Woodrow Wilson bridge today. I was sure glad my A/C works as good as it does.

Grippy, what they said about holding it but an impact wrench will get it.
On the heat. The next 3 days forcast high is 102, 103 &102 here. Actually, this is Alabama but this is unusual. mid-high 90's all the time in the summer but breaking 100 in North Alabama is rare. I think it is due to the high humidity and the moisture in the air blocks the sun rays. But it is still hot as a ***** due to the humidity all the time. Now South AL is horrible. They get even more intense heat than us and have the extreme humidity coming off the Gulf. It is nasty. I'm sorry but 102 in Illinois isn't the same as 102 in the deep south generally speaking.

Yeah, we generally hit highs in the 90's in the hottest parts of the summer but, we do break the 100 barrier every now and then. The unusual thing is we have had the humidity pretty bad up here lately too. I'm in Maryland not Illinois. No way would I live down south in the summer.

It was 127º here on Friday, 126º on Saturday, 128º on Sunday, 124º yesterday, and it's already 123º today.....I DO NOT want to hear ANYONE ELSE on here complain that it's hot where they live

Oh, and removal of the crank bolt is easy....slide a 1" dia. pipe through the crank pulley, manuever it up beside the drivers side of the engine and let it rest on the crosmember. it'll prevent the pulley from turning perfectly and doesn't require removal of any other parts
