Default What's a good place to have my brakes repaired

I live up on the north side of Houston in Spring near Tomball. My brakes are starting to squeel and I need to take care of it. I was thinking about taking it to Parkway Chevrolet in Tomball but they want to charge $300 per axle. Where is a good place I can take my truck and perhaps not hurt me as much in the wallet? I have 150,000 miles on my truck and I hope to get another 150,000 miles on the new pads again. Please let me know.

i went through several sets of auto zone crap until i just went back with oem stuff and fixed my brake problems. those cheap rotors warp within 3,000 miles with my driving habits. the cheap brake pads leave a thick coat of brake dust on your wheels and didnt seem to stop any better to me. OEM all the way IMO.

i can turn his factory rotors and put on new oem ceramic brake pads and he wont have any problems

Wagner brake pads and rotors, or have your factory rotors turned, and do the labor yourself !

yep stick with oem, unless you want a big upgrade and have lots of money to spend.
If OEM has been getting the job done stick with them. You wont see a performance pad last even 50,000

I live in the same area as you and Ive heard really good things about Tomball Brake and Muffler. The place looks kinda crappy and small but there always busy and pretty honest! I just called them earlier and and they wanted $200 to install pads and rotors and bleed the system when you supply the rotors!

But Id take TXsilverado up on his offer! WHats cheap? I might have to make a trip over there if you wouldnt mind! I think im going to order the SSBC Rotor and break kit today.

You probably only need rear ones. I've never seen a NBS truck that needed front pads. Mine have 170k and look brand new. I've only replaced the rear ones once.

The OEM rotors that came on my truck were junk, I went through 2 sets that rusted all to hell before I switched to Praise Dyno pads and rotors and I've been fine ever since. I guess that you probably don't have the same issues with rusting there in Texas though
