Whats the going prices on........

1999-2002 Chevy/GMC Silverado/Sierra RCSB's? I just recently demodded and traded in my 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab for the 06 EX-Cab Z71. Well...................., me and my girl have been trying to buy a house for a while now. We are approved to buy one, but price wise the houses are just in that range where I might be a little uncomfortable. My Z71 payments are about 500 a month, thats not too bad, but my girl has an 04 Sierra Ex-Cab and she's paying about 500 a month too. Thats way too much car cayments. I'm thinking about giving her the Z71, we need the use of 4x4, but taking her 04 and trading it down for a RCSB 5.3 for me.
Anyways, just wanting to find out what good prices are for these. I'm hoping that we might be able to at least drop the monthly payment by doing this by a coupla hundred bucks.
We are looking at a few homes and we can afford them, but I'd like to have a little room for modding and fun and a RCSB truck is my modding vehicle of choice.

You'll probably just have to look around a few lots, it all depends on how many miles are on the truck basically. Chevrolet holds their resale value well so that will be a downside on the price.
Just a though and i'm not sure how brand partial you are but a RCSB Hemi would be the thing to buy, the new Dodge trucks resale value is a joke(at least it is in Arkansas, they go for dirt cheap here). There are some good deals out there, you just gotta get out and look for them.

AP, yeah, well the home search is getting pretty close and I've been crunching numbers and thats really the main reason here. But I have said all along that I would much rather mod a truck than the Impala SS. Yeah, I would keep the Impy for DD services or at least back up duty for when the truck needs to be down for a day or week or whatever.
I have been searching Autotrader, and have found quite a few that I might consider. Tan327, I'm not necessarily a true brand loyal guy, but a big thing is gas mileage. I drive currently about 30 miles one way to work, 60 miles round trip each day, so a GM would be much more to the liking. I have had dodges before, I know what kind of mileage they get. Other than that, I wouldn't be opposed. Plus I think that the LSX motor is a much better platform to start the modding with.
I actually found a 2002 out here in Alvin a few miles from my house. Its a 5.3 motor RCSB stepside. Low miles @ like 21,500 miles, they are asking 15,300 for it, which seems a bit high, but the truck has a few things that I don't necessarily like. Its yellow which to me is good, I love that color, but it has a hard tonneau cover, chromed 20" wheels/tires, and the fiberglass running boards. I would have to get rid of those running boards and wheels/tires first thing.
The hard thing I'm finding is RCSB's with the 5.3 option. I've seen quite a few 4.8's but I'd rather go with the 5.3

Well, I'm actually thinking that very seriously now. I just found a house that we are going to look at as soon as I leave work. Absolutely gorgous place on 1 acre built in 2002. Local guys, this will be the party place. You should see the outdoor built in concrete and stone BBQ pit and Fire Box. And they are only asking 110K for the place. Gonna have to do something soon now. lol.
Besides, lol, theres less people trying for the 4.8 NA Title. lol.
