VS.

05 SSS AWD with diablo programmer and e fans

i'm thinking unless he launched from a dig with 4wd engaged he got destroyed. My guess is the guy in the ss really didn't feel like playing. The ss is AWD with e-fans and a programmer and the vortec max is just stock then my guess is it really happened he would have lost. Or he's got one mean factory freak.

same truck, only the vmax might weigh less with the short bed. Mine ran 14.9 with 33's on it. No TQ management and a CAI. So I dont know why you would think he would need to have a freak to beat an SS. There isnt anything special about them.

I didn't think much about it. For some reason i kept thinking there wasn't anything special about the v-max.

It's the same vehicle... only stipulation is if the '05 SS was 2wd or AWD. Even then that's only the holeshot. Then, eitherway, figure in the additional wieght of all the body cladding over the V-max.

FWIW, the Diablo programmer is worthless IMO. I had one on my '03 5.3 and only benefit was to extend shift points, speed limiter and and calibrate speedo.

I would bet on the Vortec Max, but it would be about equal. Both would have e-fans stock already (e-fans came stock as of 05'), but the Vortec Max has less torque management stock than an SS which would put the programming almost as good as that SSS with a programmer. The Vortec Max has no body cladding and smaller wheels which help it also. There would be no reason that the AWD would give a better launch unless you are on a slipperly surface. Neither should have a traction problem.
