Default What is this squeel all the sudden?

So, I had to put my stock balancer back on truck Saturday. Everything thus far seemed fine, until about an hour ago, I noticed a squeel when ever i press the gas. Can't hear it at idle, very random at cruise, but distinct during accelleration.

The question is, did I screw something up during the re-installation of my harmonic balancer, or is that just a belt screwing with my mind? If it's a belt, should I really be concerned? It's very possible I got a little grease or something on the balancer's threads during the initial removal, re-installation. Maybe it stretched out a bit or something?

just make sure the crank pulley is not walking in or out under load or worse spinning on the crank, have a buddy check it out while your in park, rev the truck and see where its coming from.

If grease or something got on the inside of the balancer before I reinstalled it, could that be the problem? What kind of damage could that do?

Yeah greese will cause the belts to slip and be loud...not much damage but it will screw with all of your accessories. P sterring, alternator, water pump, etc

Not so much the belts, but what if some grease got inside the balancer hub and it got installed on the camshaft with grease on it?
