Default What is the shelf life of oil???

Hey guys, I'm one of those people that like to buy oil when it's cheap and on sale and I buy 3-4 cases at a time. With oil prices at 1.75/qt. I like to get it when it's 95 cents to a dollar a qt. The thing is, I have 12-16 cases in my garage are 2-3 years old. It's conventional dyno oil, not synthetic. Does this stuff go bad? It's stealed and never opened so I don't see how it can? Anyone have any opinions?

Joe

not a scientific answer but i am sure it last a really long time. imagine how long it sits in a wharehouse before it hits the shelves of a store.

If there was an issue I'm sure they'd put a date on it like on milk cartons.Best used by 2508

Will oil that sits for 10 years in sealed containers be usable?

Don't forget the 1,000,000 years it sits in the ground before we bring it up.

For oil to become something other then oil it would take a LONG time with a lot of heat and presure.

Any additives in oil are aqueous and wont settle much by design.
