Default What problems have you seen?

I was just wondering, for you guys with superchargers and what not, what kind of problems are seen and how long it takes for these problems to show up,

i ask this because i plan on supercharging a rcsb 2k2 silverado (d1 9psi with 3 core) and was just wondering what problems im gonna run into, and how long i have to fix em...i also plan on puttin in a shift kit and i was wondering how much of a factor that would be

thanks

joe

9psi is quite a bit. see if they will scan your truck too while you are there to check your duty cycle. i just had the stock tranny with the line pressure turned up and it only lasted about 3k miles after the blower. the kit will help you alot.

how many miles can i expect out of a stock tranny with shift kit and trans cooler? i dont floor it all the time, but ill hit it pretty hard off most stop lights, and ill be passing most ppl when they try to get some! are there a few key parts that seem to go out on the trannys that i could maybe have replaced? so have the shift kit and maybe 400-600 bux in parts put in to make it hold up? if so what would those parts be? having it installed and stuff isnt an issue, i can get it put in for free, i know a place down here in texas that i can get a tranny rebuilt for 700 bux but its the towing once the tranny blows is where the big costs are lol

I got 6000 miles out of my tranny after I supercharged it. The tranny had a shift kit, billet servo's, and a deep pan.

It was pretty fast when I first installed the procharger(8psi). Then it seemed to get slower and slower over the next year. I think the transmission was slipping. When I upped the boost to 11psi, it went almost instantly. The trans pan was FULL of clutch material.

If you plan on a supercharger, then also plan on a built transmission.

dang seems like most ppls trannys are goin out pretty quick... so even with shift kit, trans cooler, billet servos, and like the 13 clutch pack, i cant remember what its called, i would only get like 10k miles or so?? damn!! how much would the parts cost for a built tranny that could handle the power

My trans is doing pretty well, And all I have is a TT3000, but Im putting in billets and a shift kit very soon. But my trans is a little stronger than the regular 4L60E. Id definately do at least the shift kits and billets. But also my truck only has 18000 miles so it didnt really have any abuse on it before the blower was installed. And im running at 12 PSI.

If your trans has a good amount of miles on it, you might just want to get a built one now and not wait for it to go out.

Also you put D1, did you mean the actual D1 or the D1SC? get the SC version if you can, you dont really want to have to deal with oil lines and all that. Also definately get some 42lb injectors and throw the FMU in the trash. And a custom dyno tune. You will be happy with the outcome.

Id like to get a 3 core intercooler too, does anyone know how much those are gonna cost??

Changing out the injectors is very simple. You simply just unplug the electrical connectors, unbolt the fuel rails and crossover to take them out and then swap out injectors and put everything back.
