Default What the Heck happen!

i put my key in the ignition yesterday everything was fine all the lights came on. I turn the key and everything goes out! So i pop my hood thinking its a bad connection at the battery i take everything off clean it good. I put the lead back on the positive side since that was the only dirty side. Put the key in and does the same thing except this time when i put my key in the ignition nothing turns on. So i get the battery charger out but it on the super charge the one to start it. This time the lights came on but flickering bad. It got to late to fix so im going to fix it today. Anybody had this problem? Its weird my truck was running fine all day then its like the battery took a crap. The only thing is that whenever i was getting my new drop put on it sat in a shop for about 2 months just sitting there. Maybe it messed the battery up?

Batteries last longer if they are used regularly.

sounds like the battery took a dump. My moms new caddy srx did the same thing. Only once we got it charged and started if it sat for more than a few hours the battery would be dead. I guess it is common for GM batteries to just take a crap. If you charge it and it fires up, but then let it sit and it dies again you need a new battery. Good Luck

My truck is an 04, but its sits for weeks at a time and the battery stays good. I dont disconnect anything. You have something draining the battery if it dies after 4-5 days. Make sure your amp is off and stuff like that. On our 02 suburban the battery did just eat through itself from the inside just recently.

You might want to look into getting an Optima red-top. I originally bought mine in '01, had in my Sierra for 2 years, been in Silvy for another 2 years and haven't had one problem. My Sierra had an elaborate stereo system and it would sit for 2 weeks at a time and when I turned the key, if fired up immediately. Just my 2 cents.
