What does a Dodge Dakota R/T run?
#1
Almost every day on the way home from work I see this black extended cab R/T with dual exhaust heading the same way as me. I've been trying to catch this guy at a light, but before I tango with this cat, what can a R/T do in the quarter? If he's mostly stock do you think I can take him?
My times are in sig, and I usually can muster decent street traction.

With a high 14 sec truck you will hand him his ***. Go for it. I ran a stock 5.9 R/T ext cab once in my F-150 before my headers and MAF conversion and jumped him to about 50MPH then he began to walk me. Considering how anemic my truck was to begin with you will have the advantage.

I know they cant handle a 200 shot on a stock bottom end. I saw a guy blow his about 3/4 way and still roll a high 12. he had done alot of head work and about every bolt on you can get. It was a stout little truck with it. Really the only stock thing he had was the crank rods and pistons. he had to call his buddies back home in enid OK to bring the trailer which is about 3 hours from MOCAM dragway

I had a 98 you should have no problem if its stock, they have good bottom end but up top their weak.5.9 is a low revving torque engine. If modded look out I had one stay on my *** up to 100mph in my stock 2000 CAMARO SS after that I left him.

seeing red, I made the mistake of buying an ext cab R/T in 2001. I put a 3" flomaster 40 series on it and an airaid intake. I kept it only a week and a half and got rid of it. I lost almost every race. It was fast the first 100 feet, but after that the power fell off. In drive it would shift at 4800rpms, So I always had to shift it myself. Ive seen your runns at the track. Even with a few mods you will hand him his ***.
