what cubic inch motor is the 5.3?

Ranwalk has it right. It's been a 325 from the beginning. Chevrolet has never called it a 327. The idiots that do marketing for them have screwed it up just like they've called the 6.0L a 366 and the 5.7L LS1/6 a 350. These same idiots have even shown the regular cab as being available with a 6.0L in a half ton. Information of that type is best to come from a manual (in this case electronic manuals) and not advertised info.

The thing that pisses me off is when you say you have a 4.8l... They think.. What a cheap ***.. Why didnt you get the V8? If they knew what they were talking about... they would realise how stupid they sound.... Also when you are driving next to someone and they cant tell its an 8 by the sound...

I always thought it was a 327 until I got on PT.net. Haha, I bet people think I'm a dumbass every time they read my screename.

I even had some old camaro 327 badges on the fenders of my truck for a while... they looked better than it sounds, trust me.... but those are gone these days...

I feel sort of the same way...the "294" in my name is because I saw the 4.8 listed as a 294 somewhere. Tell them you're honoring the old 60s street warrior.
