what cubic inch motor is the 5.3?

i have heard both 325 and 323. 325 pops up on the computer screen at my parts house.

I remember when the 5.3 first came out and the only way the old guys could figure out what size engine was to call it "one of them new 327" You know how older people don't like change. The salesmen would tell them they brought back the 327 and they were sold .

haha, everybody ask what i got and i tell them a 5.3 and they say oh, the 327... haha

Yeah, people ask me what I got and I say 4.8 and they say is that a 6?

A lot of people think the 5.3 is a 327 around me; I even had a girl tell me she had a 5.3 in her truck, which was basically the old 350. I just gave her one of those blank looks and went, umm....ok.

Yeah, I heard one old guy call the 4.8 a 283 . More accurate numbers I've heard range from 292 to 294 with 293 being the most common. Do the math and it comes out 292.9 so 293 is closest I guess.

I get that too.. Pisses me off!!! They talk crap... so then I just tell em no... Thats a 4.3L... I have a 4.8l v8... that will *** rape your 4.6...4.7.. 5.4... 5.7 or 5.9... Then... I tell em thank you... come again..
