Default Weird issue while towing in 4 low?

I was pulling our boat out of the water up a very steep ramp in 4 low. The engine would randomly loose all power but not die. I had to stop & put it in 2 high & it went away.

I had to go almost wot to get up the ramp but no engine problems. Is there some kind of limp mode caused by being in 4 low?

Boat weighs aroud 7 g's. The pickup is a 2000 z71 5.3.

No limp mode in low range that I know of. Is this truck stock or modified?

It's stock. It would take off fine then it would act like it was going to die. But it kept running. Put it in 2 wd & it was fine. It was so steep that it was pretty hard on the tranny without using low range.

I have hp tuners, maybe i will go remove all torque mangement like i did on my other projects. see if it happens again.

mine did it while i was out in the dunes and the only thing i could think of was this ! That it was some kind of torq/pwr reduction ! And mine is dbw if that means anything ! at that time it was completly stock with just a superchips flashpack !

I need a wiring diagram of the TCCM. It would have to have some communication with the pcm to do this.

Back in the winter we had a few snow days and I have a 30mile commute to work so to avoid traffic I would go early and was in 4WD Hi and noticed that radomly the truck would cut off ( I mean the engine and lights and everthing) but only for a second and then back on but would not shut off in 2WD, I tried 4WD HI a few times and it would do it randomly, I removed and cleaned all my frame, chassis and engine grounds I could find and the problem has gone away.
Not sure what it was but I was getting afraid to drive it in 4WD thinking it was going to quit and strand me, it acted like somthing was shorting out or I was loosing power to the truck.
