You probley wont run 12's with LS1 in a Silverado, more like low 14-high 13. If you had the 5.3 I would buy a STS turbo system for it, those things are badass, and your truck would be a hell of a lot faster than it with just a stock ls1. Or if you are deadset on getting a LS1 5.7 put a new cam springs pushrods in it .

Not true. Chick from Texas named Amy used to have a 5.7 in her truck which ran low 12.1-2's. N/A. It is very possible and I've thought of putting a 5.7 myself. Takes quite a bit of mods though as with anything.

yup run a lightweight gm rec pickup with an ls6 ported headed cammed huge yank convertor like amy and you will run in the 12s. not very good example of a street truck. hers was much more a track truck. imo.

yea, but you know what i mean. You can take some converter out to where it would be a little more efficient and that would stil be a 12 second street truck.

That's such a nice story. My truck is so dang heavy I wouldn't stand a chance without forced induction, but that's a 4x4 for ya, ain't no street rod. I'd like to get a cam and ported head job too, stuff no one can see to think it's nothing special. Of course the exhaust gives away that I have done something, but everyone can do exhaust. Good kill, it's fun to read whether they're Ford, Dodge or rice.

Default It's me......the L you waxed

Whats up my man....... You do have a fast a$$ truck (looking at your times). My L only has the K@N panel and gutted box and the times are listed. It is always cool to run someone who is not cocky at all. Your truck is sweet and I always say...."there is someone faster out there". You were on that day, but you forced me to pulley and diablo my L (next week).

Till we meet again bro

BTW....We shut it down at about 120MPH. Ole lady was griping . Had my 8 yr old as well...NOT SMART on my part.

I do own a Formula soooooooo I keep up with both major companies. The LS1 and the 5.3 are very similar. I read in Car craft that they slapped LS1 heads, cam, headers on a 5.3 and they made 100 more HP from baseline (321 at crank). I think it was on the SS/R.

On his hood scoop....He has LS1 / 5.3. I figured he put some LS1 heads on the thing. I knew it took more than that to beat the L...I feel better in the loss now the Silverado.......for now
