Dude, I'd be all over that thing, i paid 2350 for my 93 accord with 140k on it and that jetta is way cleaner looking than my accord, but i cannot complain about my car, everyone knows about how well hondas run.

Ours has been in three times, the window module goes bad and it won't go up or just falls down in the door. They fixed the drivers side and as the tech backed it out of the shop the passenger side fell in the door and broke! Yup I hate our red piece of crap!
amen to that. We just got rid of my wife's 2000 beetle, and it was the happiest day of my life. The thing only had 49000 miles on it, and we spent over $1500 in parts alone on that thing in the past six months. You should run like hell away from anything with a VW emblem. Just go talk to any foreign auto mechanic and they'll tell you not too touch them. Hell, just drive by a foreign auto shop and you'll see the parking lot full of VW's. What does that tell you. Not only do they break like crazy, but they are a HUGE pain in the *** to work on. Just letting you know about my experience with VW.
