Default VSS Right Front Wheel

I had a tire shop put on my new wheels and they pinched the wire going to VSS on the right front. so my service stabilitrac, ABS light, etc. is on. I am wondering if I can cut the wire solder in a new piece where that kink is? They said they would fix it, but I would rather just fix it myself. I am going to have the spindles off to lower it soon anyway and would probably just fix it then - just wondered if splicing would work?

Fortunately, I do know where the pinch is!

So you spliced into the wire going to the actual sensor itself with a new end and no luck, huh? What do the wires look like on that sensor? Just like every other sensor wire or are they something special? Not to be a jerk or anything , but I assume you cleared the code out, correct? Again, wasn't trying to be rude - just making sure my bases are covered. Thanks for the help guys.

Bummer...OK, thanks for the help. So you replaced the whole bearing assembly then? Was that very difficult?

I'd give it a try IMO. Most sensor bolt on to the hub assembly. Might be cheaper to replace the wire.

Yeah, I was thinking they told me this sensor is incorporated into the hub assembly. I might take it to the dealer and see if they will fix it under warranty? Not sure if that is covered or not though, LOL.

dude, let them fix it. That circuit works on milli-volts, if there is too much or not enough resistance in the spot where you fix it, its still not going to work. let them do it so its their dime.
