Not military, but people that have been here a while.

What would you say were your best mods, or better yet, recommendations for a newbi??

I have had a few people ask me recently what I would suggest for first mods.

A few years ago I would have said tune, full exhaust and efans. After getting neck deep into the white truck, and tinkering with a few others, I think now Id say either
tune
full exhaust
converter
gears

or

tune
converter
gears
exhaust.

What would you recommend for someone just wanting a little more, but not going too much into it?

If it was someone planning a more extensive build, I think Id go
converter
tune
cam
exhaust
possibly swapping the cam and exhause

Dunno what you consider a veteran member, but...

Gears and tune would be my pick, in that order. Exhaust just seemed to make more noise and not help a lot, and I frankly find stalls (even my low stall 2600) annoying to drive. Cam really only helps out up top, but it would be my third choice... or you could slap on a blower and be done with it. Easy 100hp bolt on.

Tune, converter, full exhaust, cam, fans, and whatever other bolt one once you get bored with that lol in that approximate order lol. And keep updating the tune as you go.

See, I'm more along the lines of the big stuff first. Don't waste money on the small stuff...

You can do a tune if you want, but if I'm unbolting the trans, I might as well put a 6.0 in.

If you don't want to go that deep, then a cam swap with tune. Even then, you are getting up in price vs a 6.0 swap.

Gears and locker are good as well... but compare the price to a 6.0. 'Nuff said.

Exhaust seems to be the second biggest waste to me. First would have to be cold air intake. I would do electric fans before either of these two mainly because I like the way they clean up the engine bay.
