This thread is hilarious. All I was thinking the whole time is awesome an alternative to the Holley. Any who I’m going to jam a 2008 5.3 (currently “rebuilding”) mated to a 2017 6l90. (Fluid was darker, nothing significant in the filter one or two longer slivers of metal. Can’t remember what was in the pan may need a rebuild.) into a 1967 c10 (currently doing body work) I’m torn between trying to use the gen v pcm to run the whole thing, not sure if it will even run a gen iv engine. Oooooooorrrr pay a billion dollars for a Holley.

You'll pay more trying to get all that to play nice on a factory controller than you will just hooking it up to a Holley.

Suppose I will do the old saying buy once cry once. I just hate the idea of dropping 2500 on controllers when I have the wiring harness and ecm laying on my floor. But I can see the troubles every one has gone through here

$2500 on controllers is literally nothing lol
You’ll spend more on your trans rebuild.
it is so worth it.

That’s why I find the $2500 so gross, endless money pit. Doesn’t help I get paid in Canadian rainbow money. I just looked last night and it’s an e78 ecm so pretty well just as useless but a gen iv ecm none the less. That means the tranny has been replaced at some point so maybe it’ll be okay! I’m going to pull the converter and dump all that fluid and see if I find a disco party in there.

I’ve been trying to decided if I should buy the controller and let it collect dust or wait till I’m ready to install. Hurts less if you slowly buy things but also sinking endless money into a forever project kinda sucks lol.
