soo did you not take the tire off? could it be the seal for the axle? or is it a metal-on-metal squeak? heck i went ahead and replaced the rotors, pads, and parkin brake shoes on mine,, they where cheap enough, and then i put all them bearings in there.. whew that was fun!

When my rear pads wore out they would squeak while driving. When I changed the pads it went away, but that might've been because I cleaned all the dust and **** out when I did it.

ya.. i thought tht too.. thats actually what i did before the u-joint thing, it went away and than came back after driving just a little bit...

im thinking it might be time for new rotors and pads in the back anyways... if that doesnt fix it i think im going to change the diff. fluid for the hell of it.

It's prolly the rear axle seal. It doesn't cost much but putting it in is a pain ....

I'll almost bet that it's the e-brake shoe rubbing the inside of the rotor...it's actually very common, and there's a tsb on it. The e-brake shoe clip snaps, the shoe shifts, rubs the drum part of the rotor and squeaks. Same thing happened to mine a few years back. The new e-brake shoes come with new, re-designed clips.
