Trying to find the right size tire
#1
Ok ive searched for this one and ive got some ideas about what would work but i want to know for sure. I guess im looking at 285/60/R16 i want to use them on the stock steel rims or find the next widest size i can fit on them, ive heard of wider tires on stock rims. I want to keep the hieght close to 30" (Stock) and was wondering if it would be cool to run stock size tires in front or would it cause problems. Im looking at toyo proxes or pirelli scorpions but i dont knoe to much about whats good for street/strip
. Thanks
. Thanks

I've had 275/60/16 Toyo Proxes and they looked and handled great. My friend had some 285/60/16 Goodyear Eagle GT2s on his stock wheels. I thought they looked like *** and he said they didn't last for ****.

According to tirerack.com, the recommended wheel width for a 285/60-16 tire is 8-9.5". Your stock steel wheel's width is only 6.5". I've heard of people running 285/60-16 tires on stock steel wheels with "no problems". I personally would NOT run a 285 tire on a stock steel wheel, but it's up to you. Element 80 made a good suggestion with the 275/60-16 Toyo Proxes. I'll consider these tires when my stock tires run out of tread
