I've considered making a kit to put the battery in the back under the bed, but making a battery box mount would not be very practical or easy to mass produce with my limted fab supplies/ability.

How much of a PITA was it to drop the trailer hitch out? Friend's moving back to WA and wants to buy mine and put it on his truck to tow a U-Haul trailer. Looks like 18mm-ish?

not a big PITA at all....unless the bolts are rusted to hell. find some tri-flow lube and juice them bolts down.

TRI-FLOW rocks! anyone else tried it?

I wish I could help you on the receiver. I'm keeping it just in case I get another boat or trailer. Sorry.

The hitch was a breeze to drop. If you don't have a deep 21mm socket you should be able to use a 13/16". They are real close to each other as far as size goes. About .01427" smaller for the 13/16" socket. My truck was new in late 02 and the bolts still looked like new.

Just drop the spare tire first or it is a PITA.

I went all winter without my front sway bar, but I had the rear springs clamped which helped cut down on the lean. You certainly can't corner like a sports car, or tow anything at all. The only reason I put mine back on was to start hauling my jeep around again.

I imagine different vehicles would act differently, plus some folks like to take corners like Bo & Luke and need all the help they can get!

Took off hitch today-no noticable difference yet. Felt alot heavier than 36lbs. Spare's been in the basement for months now.

Lose them tailgate. My truck rear raises like 1/2" after I take it off.

Floor mats...yeah they are heavy on the 03'+ models.

Tow hooks

Jack...what do you need it for if you ditched the spare tire right.

I'll think of more later.
