Cool Trading for Duramax?

The lease is up on my '03 1500HD and I am trying to figure out if I should keep it ? I have a chance to get an '04 2500HD LS with the Duramax/Allison compo for a good price and was wondering if that would be a better way to go for me?
Looking for a little advice and maybe a push in the right direction. My truck is my toy and I tow a 5000lb horse trailer a few times a year. What do you think?
Thanks

A couple of things......

Find out if it is an 2004 LB7 or a 2004.5 LLY. The LB7 will be way more mod friendly and make more power.

If you truly want to haul *** you will need to invest in a transmission. A ***** out race setup like the Suncoast V will set you back around 5K installed. Then you can flat go nuts on making power.

If you are leasing only then that could be an issue.

Cool

The engine is a LB7 so it would be the easier one to mod but $5K for a trans (would probably be $7K Canadian) might slow me down a little. The truck is a LS versus my LT so it is short of some of the goodies and it does not seem to handle, ride or brake as well as mine does for some reason. I would hope to make more than 100 hp over stock so I guess a trans upgrade of some sort would be a necessity. According to the DIC it is only averaging 2 mpg more than I do in the 1500HD.

Well all in all I think I like my truck better and I am having a lot of fun with it. It is certainly very tempting but I guess I will not be converted into a dielsel addict just yet. I think I will hang on to the 1500HD for now.

It certainly is tempting and the lure of big power and torque from a duramax is enticing.....

Thanks for everyones input.
