Towing Question...
#1
Bet you wouldn't have guessed me asking this, but its really just for more reassuring than it is right or wrong.
I have an ls1 efan setup on my truck, controlled by the PCM with my own tune. Now here's the deal - I live in Nebraska where its FAIRLY flat. I've pulled a boat a few times, 100 degrees out, 90% humidity, without overheating.
Here's my concern. I'm road tripping to San Diego the last week of May. Going there empty, but GUARENTEED to come back with an 81 cutlass (the fullsize version) in tow on a trailer, and probably loaded down with other car parts.
Are the mountains going to cause any problems when coming back? I could just put the clutch fan on for peace of mind, but if I can do without the extra drag, I will......
Let me know what you all think!!

Just take the Clutch fan with you and if it starts heating up, throw the clutch fan on and shroud... a whooping 5 minute job..
We are goin to kentucky in a month or so. and ill be pulling a 16' Trailer with 4-5 4wheelers... im not sure what to expect but ill find out...
Good luck!

When the clutch fan starts to lock up its going to rob some of the power away from your engine, and you are going to need every bit of that in those mountains and hills! The efans are going to be your best bet.

I agree. The efans by themselves are good enough for the 2005 and up trucks.
