Lots of good points here gentlemen. Here's what I'm thinking. LS* engines are best NA engines out there. Strength, power, fuel economy and aftermarket support all taken into consideration. Now I had to rub one out when I saw all the specs/pics of that Cobra, but still a $40K price tag is way out of reach for most people including myself. Why doesn't GM take a 400+hp version of this great engine and drop into something affordable? A car or a reg cab truck whatever, it'll fly. I'm talking less than $30K and get into competition with that Mustang GT and quick. Because the reality is that it is the cheaper cars that you really run into on the street. I mean I can go weeks without even seeing a Z06 on the road. When they start asking $70K, I'm sure I'll see them even less. It just seems like GM is trying to appeal more to the elite with their performance models. Once they discontinued the Camaro/Firebird, they just opened the door for Ford to come in and dominate. Now before I get off on a rant here...
