Default Tire diameter and gear ratios

Hey guys, I was wanting to see what kind of combos you're running and how they handle off the line vs. top end. I'm running 4.10's, 3200 stall and 25.6" tall tires and I just scream off the line with a decent top end. I think a 3.42 would do me better with the Magnacharger not to mention a little better gas mileage on the highway. I'm shifting 6400 rpm in 1st at 35 mph and can't increase shift speed without raising the rpm higher. The truck is lowered with 17X11 rear wheels and 315/35/17 tires. I'd like to go with a 27 rear tire but M&H is the only tire company that makes a tire that big and it's a drag radial. The only other option is to go with a 335/35/17 but I won't gain enough height for the money that tire costs. I can't fit 20's under the truck because I like a 9.5" wide front wheels. Any opinions or comments would be great.

I have a 28" tire 255/40 20, with 3.73's and Eaton posi. I wish I had 4.10's, but I need the mileage benefits of the 3.73; I drive over 25k miles a year. First gear pulls great, second a little lesss, and third is like watching a sailboat race, boring. I have a 125 wet plate kit, and that helps second gear pull, but third still does not pull that hard. I am contemplating a 27" tire, 255/35 20, because the gearing would be better and it is cheaper. I bet it leaves hard with a 26" tire and 4.10 with that stall. As far as your setup goes, are you able to hook up off the line and what is your rpm at the end of the 1/4? If its close or over your rev limit, you might want a 3.73 or 3.42. I used to have the 3.23's and they plain sucked.

My 04 on et streets 27" tires with 3.73 gears 3200stall pulls fairly hard off the line, second i could use some more gogo, 3rd she wakes up for some reason and is gone.
the 00" with 4.10 and 27"et streets, pulls hard for a stock stall but a stall would wake up first alot, 2nd pulls really hard for just a bolt on truck and 3rd is soso.
