LOL...^^^ that was funny

...so does anybody know how to set the timing on a tbi 96 4.3? Or do I need to start another thread??

Google comes up with mixed answers....none of which seem right...

You dont set the timing, just put the distributor is pointing at number one on TDC. I know by experience it isnt as easy as saying that but thats how to do it.

Next time, MARK THE DISTRIBUTOR.

Josh I told that dipshit to pay alot of attention with the distributor.. Was Ty drunk or sober when he did this? If he was sober thats why he didnt get it back together right.

You can't set those. The way the hold down is on the dist. won't allow it. You are off a tooth. Roll it up to tdc and do it again.

Got mine done today, I had already marked the position of the rotor and payed attention to which way the rotor spun when I pulled the distributor out, so I just put it back the way that I pulled it apart and she runs like a champ I did the intake gaskets, water pump, spark plugs, and an oil change. I had assumed that the wires had been replaced before, but they appear to be original believe it or not, and are in bad shape...I would liked to have done the cap, rotor, wires while it was all apart but oh well...just gonna run with it and wait until it starts missin...gotta spend more dough on the truck

*EDIT* My SnapOn 16mm crows foot is a casualty that is somewhere on top of the trans I think...

He was drinkin tskin it out and sober going back in. He put it in the same spot he took it out. We even went 1 tooth at a time. I guess well try to start back at tdc again.

Other than it having
trouble starting it runs great. Moms been driving it to work

....if it's running great than the distributor must be in right, something else may be causing the hard start...
