time to get serious about this diet...

Last time at the track I weighed my truck with a shade over 1/4 tank of gas and it weighed 4240lbs which I know isnt bad at all for a ecsb truck. I removed the bumper (got a roll pan) took off the hitch, tailgate, spare tire, back seat, front pass seat. and thats it... I know the console could come out and the swaybar and maybe a few more things but my goal is to see 39XXlbs on the dial... what else can I do??
-and this was with a set of fairly heavy chrome wheels (18")
I have just about power everything so I know thats putting it up there as well.
any help?

-track prep 101 LOL...

I dont want to absolutely Gut it... I was thinking more about just un needed ****... I wanna keep my a/c and interior panels. I have a fleetside. I never considered getting a stepside bed for weight savings.... I really dont like the lines of them much personally. TX's is one of the VERY few I do like.

Run what ya brung.....Im not a huge fan of pullin spare tires, seats, etc to drop weight for the track. I guess its fun to see what the best times you could get but i always run it how i drive it on the street. Just checked your sig...is this an effort to break into the 13's if so good luck!

I think it'll break into the 13's in street trim personally but I like to get the best possible times at the track.. the weather at the track was'nt really ideal by any means.

is the jack equipment still in the truck?
is your exaust fully welded? if not take the clamp off after the muffler and lose the tailpipe for the day
the console can easily go, you have an arm rest so the drive isn't that bad.
....and on your way home, stop at the car wash and shampoo that carpet

oh man... that carpet is junk... I'll be looking at replacing it soon enough. drunken buddies in the pass and back seats are to thank for those stains. yeah, my exhaust is all welded. I am wanting to get it flanged at the header collectors, and right after the Y pipe like the factory location... Its one big piece right now
I have cutouts right after the collectors on both sides so the rest of the exhast is just dead weight. all the jack BS is out. the spare lift is still in, I guess it could go. the spare is in the bed with a bicycle lock LOL...

you should already be into the 13's with that MPH. all you need is the right weather.
