Thought I'd be different 06'
Alright fellas, after posting 5 threads, talking to multiple shops, talking with my two tuners, a few turbo kit guys.. I think I have decided that building an 06' 2500hd crew cab 6.0/80e is just going to be to hard to do. Not enough parts for it. Not enough people have done a turbo lowered 06 HD 4 door. If I were to part the entire thing out what truck would you guys put this trans/motor/turbo in? Year body chassis etc and why? Going to sell this as a roller and just build a 10.50-11.0 truck that can drive on the street. I think this would just be easier on me. Thought it would be different to build and not be like everybody else. But I'll just buy some 4 door 40mpg beater and build a 2 door lighter truck. At the end of the day the 06 LQ is stronger. Perfect donor motor for a project. Let's hear it..

My 2500 has not been hard at all so far. I am running a blower and don't want a turbo but my goal at the end of it all is 1000 rwhp lol. Current blower won't achieve that but I will get there eventually. It's nice not having all the mickey mouse half ton stuff to break along the way that they all upgrade too. But hey... build a reg cab half ton like everyone else and it makes the heavy pig crowd more unique lol.

What made you go blower and not turbo? Especially with that power goal? What lower did you end up with. But guys it just seems like a smaller truck would be easier. A lot of direct fit turbo kits. Suspension has been messed with enough. And faster obviously lol. It's like I wanted to be different but I'll do all this to go high 11svllw 12s when in 4500lbs I can go 10.50s? Who knows. I'm back in forth. It's hard going from a 2700lb car to this lol. Wanted some advice if I were to go small truck what's the best option out there? C10, S10, OBSRC, etc.. wanted some reasons why which one is the better choice? Weight? Frame, chassis? Easier to work on? More room? More parts... or whatever.

I don't want a turbo... zero interest in it for the truck. Might build a junk yard hoopty turbo wreck one day to blow off tires but i doubt it. I built and assembled the engine myself so it's my choice on components . I honestly couldn't care less about quarter mile times... probably never go to a drag strip with it haha. Closest one is a couple hour drive and evident by my maybe 4 times of visits in the last 8 years I am kinda done with it lol. You will have fun with whatever you choose.

But why do you hate turbos so much? I'm just wondering what is making you decide blower? What blower did you go with? And why set a 1k hp goal and not hit the track? Kind of a waste of money imo. Not to be negative Nancy. Are you dailying this truck? Is it a show car or what?

Personal choice... not hate. Turbos are alright I just don't want one. I think drag racing is boring... sorry lol. I have better stuff to do... like build more projects! I'm building this for me and not the internet... hence no build threads and like zero posts about it lol. So no go on the shows haha.... I don't go to car shows. Truck will be to do whatever with... probably never drive it after making it look perfect top and bottom which I already have done . Look at my signature.. It's not even the whole list. No it's not a daily. Getting my gto built to road race it casually is a lot more exciting to me as it's something new for me that I have never done.

Gotcha. Yeah I have done the fast life already. Just want a clean 4 wheel drive 4 door that can still scoot when I want it to and do everything else I need it to do while making a few 11 sec passes. You must have some heavy pockets aiming for 1k hp for it to sit and still build a goat to play with lol. Whatever it is good luck with the builds. Still in the middle and running in circles on mine haha. Posted this because being different some times just leads you back to where you were like everybody else at once. Typical 9-10 sec car threads. That all look bad sound the same. Still would love to get this thing looking and running right. It's bad as to me. 4 door HD Thad truck spooling down the highway....... with my whole family in the truck sitting comfortably on pump gas... lol
