Default Thinking about an H2

So lately I've been thinking of getting an SUV and I have the H2 on my radar. I'am just wanting to ask a few questions.

How is reliability?

How is Maintenance?

What are some mild mods you can do to them performance wise?

What the MPG on them, be aware I'am looking at the 03-05 Versions, Not looking to spend 50-60G on one more or less looking to spend 25K or less.

Most of them are rolling around with LQ4's so you could get some decent power out of them. H2's are basically big bodies on a Tahoe chassis anyways. The biggest reliability concerns I've seen with them are fairly trivial things like wheel bearings going bad due to the big tires exerting extra force, tie rods snapping under load and the engine oil cooler assembly likes to leak.

They're based on the 3/4 ton suburban platform with a 6.0 and 4l60. Reliability = nonexistant

Interiors are utter plastic crap, **** poor gas mileage, great powertrain.

It's just a 3/4 tahoe. We have an 06 that is the sorriest damm interior I have ever seen in a gm vehicle. It feels like it was put together by matel and looks like fisher price designed it.

So what's the functionality that you're looking for? Grip and stick on a family SUV?

Just keep in mind there are more Silverado/Tahoe conversions on the board than there are H2's. I'd take a look at the Escalade. In the same family too.

they're also horrible as far as visibility goes...tiny windows, high seating position etc makes for a bitch of a time in tight situations but that's as far as my experience with them goes

They are hard to see out of, they get crappy fuel mileage and interior is cheap, but man do they look tough! I wanted one until gas went up and stayed up, we had an H3 and sold it earlier this year.
