I know this isn't the regular RED2K thread but I was moved so I had to post it. Well, to start of I have been helping a friend for the last two days frame a room in his shop. I didnt expect anything in return, just thought I would help a friend. Well he knows I have been really tight with my money since I lost my job. He went through many years of hard rimes himself. His father passed away and he was left with quite a sum of money. He also knows I am not the type to just take money from someone with out earning it. Well he asked if I wanted to detail the outside of his truck for some cash. I said hell yeah extra much needed cash. He asked how much and I told him $40. It is a 2003 4 door 3/4 ton. I thought that was reasonable. He said that was too cheap so I said ok $50. So we finsihed the room today and I went to work on the truck. I hand waxed it and then sprayed polish on it. It took my about 2 hours with hand washing and everything. The truck looked awesome. Well his wife cooked dinner, we ate, and I decided to head home. I wasnt worried about him paying me because I knew he would sooner or later. As I was headed out the door he said he had put the money in my cup holder. Well I went out to my truck and there was a $100 bill. I was shocked and called him and thanked him and told him he didnt have to but thanks. You know it makes you realize who your friends really are when your the one in need. It doesn't have to be money either, it can be help moving or working on something. Sorry to ramble but hey it has always been me helping the other person and I thought it was pretty cool.

 

Cool.... Looks like you have spending money for the weekend. Nice to know you have true friends.

Thanks, things are not that bad. I still have a little spending money. I am sure he remembers me paying him more for things than they use to really cost. The guy used to build my racecars for me.
