Default Tail light question

Will the 03-04 tail lights plug right up to a '99 gmc sierra with no mods needed? The reason is I scratched the hell out of one of my stock tail lights and it seems to be a good time to upgrade to the 03-04 tails.

I think you need a wiring harness cause of a extra bulb on the 03 up. Or i think you could just leave out that bulb and it should work

It takes a little work to get them to go.. I did the 03 tail light upgrade and just left the bulb out.. but you have to do some work where the top bulb goes it. it doesnt snap in.. had to cut the holes that the bulb locks a little bit and all went well..

i put '03 tails on mine and left the extra bulb out, and the top bulb would not fit in the hole correctly, so I just pushed it in there sideways. Hell, as long as the brake light lights up when I press the brakes, you're good to go!

Did you have the lamp out so you could see what you were doing?

I bought my 2003 taillights from the dealership and they came with the wiring harness. Just plug and play.

15766535 Taillight assembly LH (2003 model) $85.80
15183559 Taillight assembly RH (2003 model) $85.80
