Swapping power/heated/memory seats Need Wiring Help!
#1
I recently bought a 2006 Silverado ecsb. It dosnt have power or heated seats. I had a buddy at a junk yard that got me a set of leather seats from a 2006 2500 Duramax pickup. I also got the center console, glove box trim, door panels and harness for under the seats. At first it seemed everything would plug right in. But the connector for the aibag module is the same connector. But it has a line up tab in a different location. It appears if that tab was gone it would plug in. Then all the other yellow connectors and the seat connectors match up. Alone with 2 plugs that go under the drivers kick panel. But there are two extra connectors that go somewhere under the drivers side dash. I assume they are what powers up the harness for the power seats. And thats why my old harness didnt have it. Also I have the door panels and the wires from the heated seat controls go right into the window controls and should work fine. I just want to know if this swap is possible. If the memory and heated part of the seats will ever work. And if the BCM need to be reprogrammed.

In the example above, the OP is taking the body harness from a 2500HD and putting it in a 1500 light duty truck. The problem is that the Airbag system in the 2500HD's are single stage and the airbags in a 1500 are dual stage. You can break off the tab in the airbag module connector on the 1500 harness and make a few wire changes in that connector and it will work. I just did the exact opposite.....I took a 1500 harness (SSS) and put it in my 2500HD in anticipation of installing leather memory heated power seats. I broke off one of the tabs in the harness and rearranged a few wires and it worked fine as far as the airbag system goes. Tomorrow I plan on picking up the seats and door panels and installing them......I will let you know if the heat and memory works or if it will require a BCM flash.

I know its an old thread but i figured i would chime in because I have just completed this body harness swap and it may answer a few questions for those that want to do the upgrade.
