Default Swapping out alternators....need wire upgrade?

I've heard that when you upgrade the alternator (in my case from a 105A to a 145A) that you should upgrade the alternator wire. Is this necessary, and if so, what needs to be done?

I don't know if it helped but I swapped out the 8awg black wire thats coming out of the Alternator for 4awg.
No need to go bigger because it's so short. The factory trucks with 145a have the same puny 8 awg wire so its prolly not needed. It only cost about 5$ to do though.

LOL...I have yet to see my voltage drop or headlights dim from the stereo, and I have 3 amps with 2400 watts RMS. Overkill =

I also upgraded the battery to chassis ground and engine block to chassis ground wires to 1/0 guage as well.
