guesses on reason's for the inverted style:

1. keeps the heat exchanger away form the engine so less heat soak\

2. with push rod engines there isn't a whole lot of width between the heads compare to a ohc motor because the heads don't stick up as high. The blower fits well in the small area, then there is room for a wider intercooler on top with out having to build it tall

If this is a real FI motor put out by GM, my first question is, why such small or restrictive exhaust manifolds? The current LS7 has much bigger exhaust runners and the collector is in the center and not at the end of the manifold. Also the collector is oval shaped on the LS7 as to minimize the exhaust crowding up. Just something I noticed anyways.

Why they didnt make them bigger, i dunno. But I can tell you why they dont look like LS7 manifolds, its not for a vette. That motor is for a truck. The guy who took the pics was simply mistaken, he said there was another engine around the corner, thats probably the vette engine. And now all the pics are gone at the request of GM

Pics have been removed from that site. I knew someone was going to loose their job over that one.

I missed the pics
If that goes in the new SSS I'll be trading up.

Please don't post the pics again if you have them. GM already asked for them to be taken down on other sites. No need to provoke them.

If that goes in an SS price tag will probably be $45,000 to $ 50,000 since maxed out trucks already go in the high $30,000 range.
